Sweet Life Midwifery

Supporting Women and Families Through Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum

My Story

Robin-Noah.jpg

Hi there, I'm so glad you're here! I'm Robin and I'm a Florida licensed midwife serving women in my community which includes all of Lake, Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Sumter, Polk, Volusia as well as the surrounding areas within a one hour radius of my home in Astatula. I offer preconception counseling, home birth services including water birth, prenatal care and postpartum care. As your midwife I will be with you every step of the way encouraging and supporting you, your partner and your newborn baby. I am passionate about your birthing experience and the life long impact it will have on you and your baby. And most of all I believe in you and your ability to birth your baby without interventions, your body is designed to birth!
I began serving in the "birth world" as a birth assistant in 2007 at The Birth Place, a busy birth center near Orlando. During that time I also obtained my certifications as a Doula, Lactation Consultant and Childbirth Educator. In 2019 I graduated from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery and obtained my Florida midwifery license through the Department of Health. I also maintain current certifications in BLS and NRP as well as keeping up with the required continuing education credits. Along with my excellent training I also offer a lifetime of experience birthing my own 8 babies completely naturally; 3 in the hospital, 4 at home and 1 at a birth center. I have also had the greatest privilege in the world of attending the births of all 6 of my grandblessings! I see every pregnancy and birth as a miracle from heaven and as a licensed and certified Midwife, I feel honored to be able to contribute my expertise to women and families in the Central Florida area.

My Services

Preconception Counseling

Are you thinking about getting pregnant soon or maybe one day in the future? Many things can impact your ability to conceive and maintain a healthy pregnancy including environmental factors, diet, hormones, irregular cycles, etc. I can guide you into being proactive with your health by making wise choices that will enhance your body's natural ability to conceive a healthy baby and achieve a low risk pregnancy carried to term!

Prenatal Visits

During your prenatal visits I will get to know you and your unique wishes for your perfect birthing experience! I will come to your home for your one hour prenatal appointments every 4 weeks until your 28th week of pregnancy, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then every week until your baby is born.

Home Birth

In the quiet, safe refuge of your own home you will welcome your sweet little one into your arms! You will have the birth of your dreams and I will be there to facilitate your plans by being as much "hands on" or "hands off" as you want me to be.
Your birth your way!

Postpartum Care

After your birth you will experience the "Golden Hour" where you will have time to get to know and bond with your baby skin to skin. All assessments and exams can be done right in your bed with your baby right next to you. I will help you get started with breast feeding and stay with you until all of your vitals and baby's vitals are normal.

What My Clients Say

I was blessed to have my mom (Robin) for all four of my children's births.
I'll never forget my second son's birth. When my husband was speeding down the highway trying desperately to get us to the birth center on time, my mom was sitting beside me. Calmly reassuring me and helping me breath through my painful contractions, while I tried not to freak out about the very real possibility that I may have a freeway baby. Luckily we made it to the birth center with precious few minutes to spare and I had a wonderful delivery. I'll forever be thankful she was there for such an important time in my life and for the incredible support she was for me.

That's just one example of the amazing midwife she is, she was an integral part of each of my children's births, before, during and after.

"My baby, Bernie, was Robin’s first unassisted catch as a student midwife! My body went from 3 cm to baby in arms in under 50 minutes. Haha to say we didn’t expect a baby yet is an understatement! I started to walk toward the bed and realized baby was literally going to fall on the floor. My husband attempted to drag me there which— didn’t end well for him! Robin confidently grabbed my hand, helped me walk over to the bed, sit down and literally catch my baby and bring him to my chest. I just kept thanking her for being there! She was such a source of peace and calm in welcoming him! I loved her for the simple and beautiful way she held space while I labored. I’m sure she will be a blessing to all her future families she helps to welcome their babies earthside! Thank you, Robin!

Robin was one of my midwives and I highly recommend her! She is so sweet and knowledgeable. Her personality is perfect for a mama in labor as she makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed through the whole process. She loves what she does and gives 110% to her families and babies.

Robin was my Midwife for my 5th pregnancy and delivery. She was great! She came to my home for all my appointments, and fit right into the family.  She was caring and thoroughly answered all of my questions. During my delivery she was amazing, supportive and brought such a peaceful atmosphere,
I highly recommend her to anyone looking to have a homebirth!
