I’m so excited to introduce myself as the new owner of Heart 2 Heart Birth Center and share a little about my heart and journey with you.
My name is Robin Coon, and I’m a graduate of the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery (Class of 2019). Before becoming a midwife, I had the honor of serving as a birth assistant for nearly 10 years. I’m also a proud mama of 8 children and a Mimi to 7 amazing grandchildren—with hopes for many more in the future!
My own birth experiences shaped my calling in a powerful way. I had my first three babies naturally in the hospital, my next four at home, and my last baby at a birth center. It was during my first home birth that everything changed for me. Instead of fear and anxiety, I felt peace, calm, and overwhelming love. In that moment, I knew—without a doubt—that God was calling me to midwifery, and I wanted every mother to have the opportunity to feel what I felt.
That dream took time. I still had babies to birth, children to raise, and figure out a way to pay for midwifery school. While homeschooling our kids alongside my husband, James, I never let go of that calling—and eventually, that dream became reality.
Since graduating in 2019, I’ve served as a staff midwife at several birth centers throughout Central Florida, and I also opened my own home birth practice. When the opportunity to purchase Heart 2 Heart became available, I felt an immediate pull. I prayed over it for more than a year, and when the timing was right, every door opened and everything fell perfectly into place.
I want you to know how deeply committed I am to honoring the legacy of Heart 2 Heart Birth Center, while also gently moving it forward with love, integrity, and God’s guidance. It is truly an honor to serve this community, and I’m so grateful to walk alongside you on your journey into parenthood.

I was blessed to have my mom (Robin) for all four of my children's births.
I'll never forget my second son's birth. When my husband was speeding down the highway trying desperately to get us to the birth center on time, my mom was sitting beside me. Calmly reassuring me and helping me breath through my painful contractions, while I tried not to freak out about the very real possibility that I may have a freeway baby. Luckily we made it to the birth center with precious few minutes to spare and I had a wonderful delivery. I'll forever be thankful she was there for such an important time in my life and for the incredible support she was for me.

"My baby, Bernie, was Robin’s first unassisted catch as a student midwife! My body went from 3 cm to baby in arms in under 50 minutes. Haha to say we didn’t expect a baby yet is an understatement! I started to walk toward the bed and realized baby was literally going to fall on the floor. My husband attempted to drag me there which— didn’t end well for him! Robin confidently grabbed my hand, helped me walk over to the bed, sit down and literally catch my baby and bring him to my chest. I just kept thanking her for being there! She was such a source of peace and calm in welcoming him! I loved her for the simple and beautiful way she held space while I labored.
