Preconception Counseling
Hormones, diet, environmental factors, stress, and more, can all wreck havoc on your body and impact your fertility. I can guide you toward taking responsibility for your own well being using natural methods to conceive and maintain a healthy pregnancy. Contact me to schedule a consult to discuss your concerns about getting pregnant.
Prenatal Visits
Your one hour prenatal visits will be a combination of us getting to know each other and prenatal education so when the big day comes you will be confident and fully prepared to rock your birth! It is ideal to start your prenatal care early in your pregnancy so that your needs and baby's needs are met as soon as possible! Please contact me as soon as you get a positive pregnancy test and we will go from there. I offer a free consult in your home and of course all of your prenatal visits will be conducted in the privacy of your own home every 4 weeks in early pregnancy until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then every week until baby is born. I can also collect your labs in your home at your Initial visit, 28 week and 36 week visit. Your anatomy ultrasound at 20 weeks will be the only test that you must go out for and the only ultrasound that I require.
Home Birth
Your home birth will be the birth of your dreams! You call the shots in your own home and I'll be there if you want or need my help. I will bring all the necessary medical supplies to your home including anti hemorrhagic medication, resuscitation equipment including oxygen and suturing supplies.
Want a Water Birth? No problem, I'll bring the birth pool!
Want a VBAC? Of course, I'll bring all the necessary equipment to monitor you and baby throughout your labor and delivery to keep you safe!
Postpartum Care
My postpartum care focuses on both you and your baby immediately after birth. You will be busy transforming as a new mother, learning how to breastfeed and take care of your newborn. I will keep an eye on your bleeding and check your perineum for tears and suture if needed and yes I will provide an anesthetic. Your baby will be learning how to breath, eat and transition to life outside of your womb. I will do a complete newborn exam to make sure baby is transitioning well, along with weight and measurements! I will stay with you for a few hours to make sure everyone is stable then I will tuck you in bed for a nice long rest. I will check in with you about 12 hours later then come back at 48 hours for your first postpartum visit and again at 2 weeks and at 6 weeks postpartum. You will be able to call me with any concerns that you may have in between those visits.
